Accessibility

All visitors are welcome to the Museum of the Coastal Swedes.

There is a paved parking area in front of the museum. If needed, parking is available right in front of the entrance.

There is a one-step staircase at the main entrance. However, next to the door (on the left side), there is a gentle ramp that can be easily used by wheelchair users, those with walkers, or strollers.

The doorsteps are low. Visitors with special needs can easily explore the exhibits on the first floor, as well as the outdoor exhibitions. The coastal barn has a low doorstep, and there is an exhibit of the coastal rug on the wall facing Sadama Street. The courtyard is paved with stones, providing an enjoyable outdoor experience at the museum.

There is no accessible restroom available. However, there are two toilets on the first floor. (Future plans: The Museum of the Coastal Swedes plans to build a maritime center in its courtyard, which will include an accessible toilet and a staircase lift to the second floor.)

Service dogs are welcome at the museum.

Please inform the staff about any concerns or assistance needed. For additional inquiries, feel free to call +372 55623993 if needed.

The museum is small, and all guests can feel comfortable. A wheelchair is not a hindrance to having a great museum experience.

The streets of Haapsalu are narrow, winding, and often one-way. Enjoy the charm and beauty of the small-town streets. Signs will guide you to the Museum of the Coastal Swedes.
